Purpose of short term missions to LR:
Our houseparents and workers are on the front lines every day transforming the lives of the kids at Love Revolution. We believe that through the power of love, the cycle of poverty can be broken in their lives. Do you have a group from your church, school or other organization that wants to partner with us by serving at Love Revolution Children’s Home? Through short term mission trips your group can build relationships, learn from and encourage the children and those serving at LR. The process of nurturing the spiritual, social, emotional, educational and physical health of the kids' lives is a long-term commitment. Your STM team can partner with us in that journey by serving on the ground for 1-2 week trip.
An estimated $1.6 billion is spent every year on short term mission trips. In facilitating our small part of those annual STM trips, we have a responsibility to be good stewards of those resources. It is our prayer that through your trip, you will partner with Love Revolution in long-term prayer support, monetary support, advocacy and encouragement. We hope that what you see and learn on your trip, will give you a new found inspiration for poverty alleviation and help for at-risk children in your home community.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Most groups stay at a hotel in town. It is about 15 minutes from LR. We will help with making all reservations for your group.
Will we need a passport?
Yes. Everyone traveling to the Dominican Republic is required to have a valid passport.
What is the food like?
There are a few different restaurants in town offering pizza and chicken or chicken and pizza... but we want to make sure you get a taste of true Dominican culture while you're there.
Do we have to be able to speak Spanish?
No, although any Spanish skills you have will make your trip much more enjoyable. Our director speaks English fluently, and translator can be hired for your group if needed.
How will we travel once we are in the DR?
This will depend on the size of your team. We can help you to rent a van or to charter a small bus.
How long will our trip be?
Typically trips are between 7-14 days. Remember when planning your trip, 2 days will basically be just traveling.
What type of projects will we be working on?
This mainly depends on the skills of those on your team. We always want the main focus of trips to be building relationships, learning from and encourage our Dominican friends.
How much will the trip cost?
Typically, (not including airfare) trips cost around $1,000 per person. This would include transportation, hotel, food and some supplies depending on what type of projects you are doing.
